Fuyu Persimmon

The Japanese Fuyu persimmon is particularly popular in Japan and has gained popularity in other parts of the world as well. The texture of this non-astringent persimmon from the Gifu Prefecture is similar to apples when firm, but it will turn juicy, softer and sweeter once they are ripe.

FARM FACT: The farm is located in the Gifu Prefecture. No herbicides used with reduced chemical fertilizers and pesticides. The number of persimmons per tree is controlled and limited by severe thinning to improve the fruit quality.
