The Oushu pear is harvested in early winter and is characterized by its sweetness and juicy flesh. It has a long shelf-life and can be stored up to many weeks.
FARM FACT: The 3rd generation Pear Farm is located in the Tochigi Prefecture and the farmer uses minimal chemical fertilizers and pesticides. The farm received a letter of appreciation from the former Emperor of Japan for their pear’s fine quality. The harvested pears are stored and matured under the optimal storage condition in a special Oya Stone cellar.
