Shinko Pear is a variety cultivated in the Niigata Prefecture in 1941. They are known for their crisp texture and juiciness, and has a good balance of acidity and sweetness. The texture is often described as smooth and slightly grainy, similar to other Asian pear varieties. They are generally large in size weighing about 400g to 600g and has a long shelf life.

FARM FACT: The Pear Farm is located in the Niigata prefecture, a city blessed with both fertile soil and clean water. The farm boasts more than 100 years of pear farming history and experience. The farmer uses organic fertilizers and microorganisms to improve the soil condition, and DOES NOT use any chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
