Toukun Strawberry (桃薫)

Toukun (桃薫) strawberries are considered rare even in Japan as they are produced in limited quantities. These strawberries have a good balance of sweetness and acidity with a glamorous aroma. The aroma is said to be distinct from other Japanese strawberries due to its unique peach-like fragrance. 

FARM FACT: The farmer uses a highly scientific and calculated approach to cultivation. Instead of using pesticides, they analyze and observe the environment in their strawberry houses to prevent pest and diseases by creating the optimal growing conditions. Minimum pesticides is used, and chemical pesticides is not used after planting seedlings in the soil.
Natural enemies of pests (which are environmentally and human-friendly) is used to control them instead of harsh chemicals.
